Product Description
Morris is the son of Yala Yala Gibbs Tjungurrayi who was one of the masters of the Pintupi style
and an important early figure to come out of the Papunya Art Movement in 1971.
The concentric circles in this painting combine bands of soft earthy hues that advance and
recede giving it a warm and decorative appeal. They designs depicted are associated with
water and the Tingari ancestors who travelled over vast stretches of country performing rituals
whereby they created certain sites that remain culturally important to this day.
Many of the Tingari events are of a secret and sacred nature and no further information is
provided.
